Hi all,
I want to start my own web design business. There are some questions that are luring in my mind. I do have one or two clients to get started but how can I get more and spread my work to masses? How do I start designing for people? Do I need a site that displays my work, etc?
You have to have somewhere to advertise your business so that people everywhere will know about it. You start designing for people when either a: you approach them to do a website for them or b: they approach you from seeing your current work, which answers your second question... yes, you should have a site that displays your work, as it will help you get the word out, will show future customers what you can do, and will help you get business in the long run.
As internet business is growing day by day, web designing is buzzing high. As far as getting started and getting more clients is concerned, the best way I have learned is through word of mouth, and also through online. First of all you should settle on a name for your business and design/build a simple portfolio site to showcase your work. More you expose your good work more there are chances to get clients. Starting a web design business comprises a lot of things, so before getting started make sure you are all equipped to get into it.
